We are Fat

Recently I read an article covering to topic of obesity.  In the article I was hit with some staaaaagggeerring info.  According to the CDC (side note: you can watch the CDC and something cool about it on The Walking Dead Season 1) 42% of all Americans will be obese.

The article also states we are not yet at the "Root of the Problem" when concerning obesity.  Blaming, McDonalds, complicated measurement standards (BMI, high blood pressure, Weight) and many many other things that cloud the real issue: health.

So by 2012 42 percent huh?  No clue whats causing this "epidemic"??

Come one folks!  In 1960, 50 years ago, only 13 percent of the population was considered obese.  What were they doing back then that we aren't doing now?  Were they more active, better food quality, less stress, better food education (whatever that is)...

I simply believe in the K.I.S.S method.  Keep it simple stupid.

I don't want to open a can of worms but self control does have a ton to do with it (we are a "i want it now society") but here are Steve McAlister's keys to solving the obesity epidemic:

1.  Self Control
2.  Food Quality
3.  Food Amount
4.  Food Timing

I know I am scratching the surface but I really don't want to write a novel.  If you wanna know how I really feel ask me sometime!

Lastly,  a friend of mine told me that at his work, someone called a local pizza place to cater lunch.  The pizza place called an apologized for being out of pizza and said they could replace the order with a catered salad bar.  The catered Salad bar was not touched by the co-workers, instead the co-workers opted to FAST for lunch.  We wonder why we are fat?  Come on.
